How to Play Dekabès Domino?
Domino
Double six dominoes are used to play the game, which includes the following 28 dominoes.
Each domino has 2 ends with each having
weight from 0 (blank) to 6. A domino with 2 ends weighting the same is a
Double. The weight of a domino is the sum of both end of that domino; for
instance, Double 6 weights 12.
First Play
The game starts by shuffling the dominoes
face down. Each player picks up the same quantity of dominoes. At the beginning
of a round, the player with the heaviest doubles must play that domino. If no
players have a double, then the heaviest domino must be played.
Order of Play
The game is always played counterclockwise.
When it’s a player’s turn, he/she must play by placing an end with the same
weight on one side of the line of play. If the player’s hand does not hold a
domino that can be played, he passes his turn to the next player.
Winning a round
The person who gets all his dominoes on the
table first wins the round. To win a game you need to win 4 rounds in a row. It
could be less if some rounds count for two. We will see how one round can count
as two rounds.
Special Situations While
Playing Domino
When playing dominoes, several
circumstances arise.
Blocked game
On the table, no one has a domino that can
be played. As a result, the player with the lowest total weight in his or her
hands is the victor.
Same number of points
Whenever this occurs, the next round counts
as 2. If the game ends in a draw, the person or team that started the round
will start the following round.
Dekabès
Whoever plays
his last domino that isn't a double and can be played on both ends of the line
of play. Your win will double if you succeed this way. Dekabès is a Creole word
that translate into Jackpot in English or Capicu in Spanish (Puerto Rico).
